Our senior team includes:
Lessli Strong
Lessli brings over 24 years experience as a legal practitioner. Lessli
specialises in Family law but practises in other areas of law such as Child
Welfare, litigation, commercial and criminal law. Lessli established Lessli Strong &
Associates Lawyers in 2002 before expanding the firm to Strong Law Pty Limited
in 2008.
Lessli has always been heavily involved in community work and has had
experience with a number of committees including:
- Chair for Children’s Services Committee of the ACT Law Society 2004 to 2006
- Student mentor and examiner for the Australian National University Legal Workshop since 2000
- Student mentor and examiner for the University of Technology from
- Member of the Family Law Committee of the ACT Law Society since 2002
- Facilitator for Family Law Committee Seminars to the profession since 2006
- Convener for Family Dispute Resolution Conferences for Legal Aid Commission of the ACT since 2001
- Member of the organising committee for the bi-annual National Family Law Conference to be held in Canberra in 2010
- Qualified Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner approved by Federal Attorney General
Lessli’s other professional achievements include specialist accreditation in family law and accreditation as a mediator and arbitrator in family law.
Matthew Strong
With over 15 years experience in the legal Industry, Matthew has a wide range of expertise across many of areas including insurance litigation, insolvency, family and immigration law, with litigation remaining a constant focus for him throughout his professional career.
Matthew further developed his professional career by undertaking Mandarin studies both in Australia and China. During his time in China he worked for an organisation that specialises in immigration for Chinese nationals.
Since returning from overseas, Matthew has expanded the practices of Strong Law to encompass immigration law.
Kevin Robinson
Kevin brings over 20 years experience working in legal practices. Prior to joining Strong Law, Kevin was Acting Deputy Protective Commissioner and Director Client Services with the New South Wales Attorney General’s Department. Kevin had responsibility for managing the financial and legal affairs of approximately 8,500 clients who had decision making disabilities and supervising a further 1,500 private managers and 150 staff.
Kevin has significant mediation and conflict management experience in addition to his knowledge of family law, wills and estates, guardianship and NSW conveyancing practices.
Upon completing his Diploma in Legal Practice, Kevin was awarded the Bill Macquarie Prize to recognise this academic and professional contribution to the success of this course.
Kevin’s varied areas of expertise are reflected in his practice areas which include: Family Law, Wills & Estates, Conveyancing and Guardianship.
Melinda Luke
Since joining Strong Law Melinda has continued developing her professional skills and is currently completing her Masters of Applied Family Law at the College of Law in Sydney.
Melinda graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws, completed a Diploma of Legal Practice and is recognized as a qualified practitioner in Collaborative Law and as an independent children’s lawyer in Family Court proceedings.
Melinda has always had a keen sense of community, and has a deep understanding of the legal system through her studies and working in a volunteer and work experience capacity at the Women’s Legal Centre and St Vincent De Paul. Melinda is also a member of the ACT Law Society.
